As also expressed by the subtitle “For a Trinitarian Ontology”, this manifesto is not to be understood as an adherence to a “program” that must be followed unquestioningly, but in the literal sense of the term, as something that allows, and sets the conditions, to “touch first-hand” the avant-garde experience of trinitarian ontology, calling for a responsible response.
The editorial work on the glosses accompanying the Manifesto (edited by Maria Benedetta Curi) aims to enrich the text with supporting reflections, some of which emerged during moments of dialogue during the “Trinitarian Ontology” lectures at the Sophia University Institute in Loppiano.
The term glossa (gloss) derives from Greek, indicating a term that requires an explanation. From simple interlinear annotations, in the Middle Ages they became apparatuses external to the text, commenting on the main content.
Today we are used to dealing with footnotes, which actually lose 그 immediate and vital link with the text, expressing more a mentality of proving, of appearing, of showing what one knows (typical of individualistic thinking), rather than of being and living. For this reason, we speak of glosses, present in two types: informative-descriptive glosses (like notes); and performative glosses, which are engaging and bring to life dialogues that took place during lectures and exams, involving current readers every time.
