
Andrea Bellantone
Andrea Bellantone is a full professor of modern and contemporary philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Institut Catholique de Toulouse, where he served as Dean from 2013 to 2023.
He is currently the director of the doctoral program in philosophy and the Doctoral School. His scientific interests focus on the reception of German thought in France (Hegel in Francia, Rubbettino, 2007, French trans. Hermann, 2011), French spiritualist philosophy (from Biran to Lavelle), and French phenomenology (particularly Henry and Marion).
In La métaphysique possible. Philosophies et de l’esprit et modernité (2012), he developed his own metaphysical proposal, for which he has been proposing a Trinitarian reinterpretation in recent years. He is also interested in aesthetic experience (Figure dell’astrazione, Castelvecchi, 2022, French trans. Hermann, 2023, co-authored with Massimo Donà).
He directs the “Philosophie du Christianisme” Teaching and Research Chair at the Institut Catholique de Toulouse and the series Hermann – Philosophies de l’esprit, Hermann – Philosophie italienne, and Eikon (Inschibboleth, Rome). A full member of Section III, Philosophy and Theology, of the Académie Catholique de France, he was recently elected coordinator of his section.
